Tulasi Dalam (Basil Leaf in English) is a Telugu suspense novel penned by Yandamuri Veerendranath. Initially serialized in Andhra Bhoomi weekly in 1980, it garnered immense popularity. With subsequent reprints, it achieved sales of around 50,000 copies, establishing itself as one of Yandamuri's early acclaimed works, praised for its storytelling. Drawing inspiration from the 1971 bestseller "The Exorcist," the novel was adapted into various films, including the 1985 Kannada movie "Thulasidala," its Telugu version "Tulasidalam" (1989), Hindi adaptation "Phoonk" (2008), and its Telugu remake "Raksha" (2008). Additionally, in 1986, a film titled "Kashmora" based on the story of this novel was produced, with Yandamuri Veerendranath contributing as the writer.
