Devan, born in 1913 in Tamil Nadu, India, was a skilled and diverse writer known for his works ranging from travelogues to detective stories. He began his writing career with the humorous short story "Mister Rajamani" and went on to contribute over 500 stories, articles, and travelogues to the popular Tamil magazine, Ananda Vikatan. Devan's gentle sense of humor was a hallmark of his writing, making him immensely popular among readers. Several of his works were adapted for both stage and television, with one novel, "gOmathiyin kAdhalan," being made into a movie. Devan's contributions to literature continue to be celebrated for their depth and entertainment value.
