Ganesh Chaturthi Significance:
Ganesh Chaturthi is a significant Hindu festival celebrating the birth of Lord Ganesha, the beloved deity of wisdom, prosperity, and new beginnings. Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, is one of the most celebrated festivals that is observed in honor of the beloved God, Lord Ganesh. The festival involves crafting and worshipping Ganesha idols, offering prayers, and performing traditional rituals that honor the deity. The immersion of these idols in water at the end of the festival symbolizes the cyclical nature of creation and dissolution, reminding devotees of the impermanence of life. The Ganesh celebration at home is done by chanting Ganesh mantras. Every day, a new Prasad is offered to the Lord, and his Prasad is distributed among the people visiting the place. Archana at 3 Powerspot:
1) Thiruvalanchuzhi - Valanchuzhi vinayagar or Swetha Vinayakar: Swetha Vinayakar, a white-colored statue of Ganesha, is the focus of worship here. Though this is a temple for Lord Shiva, Swetha Vinayakar is the important deity of Thiruvalanchuzhi. Legend has it that the Devas forgot to worship Lord Ganesha before starting to churn the "Paarkadal" (Ksheera Saagaram). Hence, they were only able to get the alakala poison out of it. Later, Indra, the king of Devas, realized that it was because they did not worship Ganesha before starting their mission. After they worshipped this idol made of foam (Nurai in Tamil), they were able to take out the Amrudham from the ocean. Lord Indra created this idol out of the foam (Kadal Nurai) that was generated from the milky ocean (Ksheera Saagaram) churned by them in their quest for the celestial nectar Amrudham.
2) Thirupurambiyam - Pralayam kathavinayagr Honey Abhishekam Vinayagar: The significance of this temple is the Pralayam Katha Vinayagar (Pralayam: Destruction of Earth by the Sea; Katha: Safeguard; Vinayagar: Lord Ganesha). During the end of the Threthayuga, the Earth was destroyed by seven seas. Lord Shiva wanted to save this holy temple in Thiruppurambiyam. So he gave this work of preserving the temple to His Son, Lord Ganesha. Lord Ganesha used the powers of “Pranava Mantra OM” to control the forces of the seven seas into one well. Even today, one can witness the well that contained the seven seas in the temple premises, and it is called Yezhu Kadal Kinaru. The idol of Lord Ganesha was installed by the rain god Varuna. It is believed that he made this idol with substances obtained from the sea, such as shells, snail hoods, oyster shells, and seafoam, and he installed it here in this temple. Hence, Lord Ganesha is called Pralayam Katha Vinayaka.
3) Thirumandurai - Uchishtaganapathy: According to Vedic scriptures, Lord Ganapathi is a powerful God who solves the problems of devotees at the right time. Ucchista Ganapathi is the 8th of 32 forms of Lord Ganapathi. In this form, he blesses a person to gain more knowledge and wisdom. Worshipping and offering certain rituals to him may lead to several benefits in life. Sri Ucchista Maha Ganapathy is mainly meant for achieving success in all types of endeavors. He also helps people reach high levels in their careers by addressing their exact needs. Ucchista Maha Ganapathy Homam provides methods for getting the blessings from Lord Ucchista Ganapathy to get desired outcomes.
